学生工作部

Mission:
The Student Affairs Office (SAO) supports students in their growth as future national leaders through involvement in building a strong SII-DUFE community.
 
Goal:  SAO provides resources and experiences designed to supplement students' classroom learning and to contribute significantly to their personal development. 
 
Objective: Communicate activities of the SAO to SII teachers. 
 
Service of SAO:
The Student Affairs Office has primary responsibility for student’s wellbeing, akin to the function of surrogate parent, through the below listed activities:
(1)    Academic Advising
(2)    Implement university determined disciplinary actions
(3)    Assume primary responsibility for addressing student physical, psychological and emotional wellbeing.
a)        Identify students who are ill
b)        Refer, when appropriate, students for health services
c)        Escort, when appropriate, students to health services
(4)    Conduct new student orientation that include, but not limited to:
a)        University Policies
b)        University wide student clubs, interest groups, and activities
c)        University and Surrey International Institute on-line community
d)        Campus tour
(5)   Assisting students in campus life through identifying and facilitating membership in campus wide student clubs and interest groups
(6)   Implement university mentor/mentee program
a)        Host advance student and new student “meet and greet”
b)        Match new student with advance student for mentorship relationship
(7)   Sponsor students in local, regional and national competitions
(8)   Sponsor students in university wide activities through identifying, leading and coaching student groups for:
a)        Sports competitions
b)        Speech competitions
c)        Dance competitions
d)        Other university wide competitions
(9)   Distribution of scholarship funds for academic achievements
(10)Mediate dispute among students and between students/teachers.
(11)Advocate for student needs through:
a)        Participation in student/administration feedback sessions
b)        Represent student voice in administrative leadership meetings
(12)Organize SII student sponsored activities, such as:
a)        International cultural festival
b)        Annual cultural talent show
(13) Organize activities aimed at applying classroom learning in experiential learning through, but not limited to, activities such as:
a)        Management of BreakTime café
b)        Management and staffing of Student Support Center
(14)Keeping timely contact with parents
(15)Other services or supports concerning students.

学生工作部通过参与365滚球盘的人才培养来全力支持学生未来的成长与发展,为国家培养具有国际化视野的人才。
 
目的:学生工作部为学生提供有效资源和经验指导,更好地支持学生的课堂学习并促进其个人发展
 
服务:
学生工作部的主要通过以下几方面来保证学生的成长:
(1)   学业支持
(2)   按学校的规章制度开展学生管理工作
(3)   保障学生的身体和心理健康
(4)   组织开展新生入学教育工作,包括:
      a)介绍大学的学生管理制度与规定
      b) 介绍校、院级学生社团,兴趣小组及相关活动情况
      c)介绍校、院级线上交流平台
      d)校园参观
(5)   通过指导学生参加学生社团和兴趣小组,让学生获得丰富的校园体验:
      a)举办新老生见面会
      b) 开展“SURREY YOU”新老生牵手活动
(6)   支持学生参加市级省级以及全国级别的比赛
(7)   带领和指导学生社团和学生个人参加各类校级活动
      a) 运动会以及各类体育类赛事
      b)演讲比赛
      c) 文艺展演
      d) 其他校级赛事
(8)评定和发放奖助学金
9)处理学生之间或师生之间的分歧
(10)通过以下方式倾听学生的需求
         a)参加学生沟通委员会
         b)在行政会议中反映学生需求
11)组织学院内特色活动
12)搭建学生社会实践平台,指导学生学以致用
13定期同学生家长保持联系与沟通
14)其他与学生相关的服务与支持
